No experience in my life has been more transformative and educational than becoming a dad. No job or role has been more challenging - and more important.

This weekly blog is to share my observations, experiences, successes and struggles with being a dad of two. Plus, all the wild and funny moments along the way. Each week I will type and share a quick read. A working meditation on parenting. Designed to make parenting better. To provoke thought, especially in those moments when we feel we’ve failed as parents (we all have those) and to celebrate the moments we feel proud of.

You’ll notice that I use a typewriter. Choosing to write slowly in a world that scrolls fast. In this digital age, I like to slow down and ensure that the words I type have a lasting impact. For all who read and more importantly, my children. Here we believe that wisdom is the greatest inheritance we can leave our children - it’s meant to be passed down and not forgotten.

The typewriter has given me the ability to engage better and deeper with the thoughts I want to share. Words have weight and each letter typed is a commitment, not a draft. Through the slowness of typewriting I find clarity and meaning. All of my lived experiences are more intimate, meaningful and I connect with them and my children better. Also, the connection and intimacy with you, the reader.

In my first blog :

it’s on the pursuit of wisdom - which is a lifelong mission. Parenting is the same. No one just “gets it.” This blog is for expecting and current parents. Moms and Dads. Step-parent and co-parent. Whether your children are young or adults. Perhaps you decided to not have children or you learned through trials and pain that you cannot bear your own. Maybe you’re a grandparent, a foster or adoptive parent. You may even find yourself in a position of leadership or mentorship of children - as a coach, teacher or mentor. Or, in just trying to parent yourself through life - this weekly blog is for all.

These writings are not to push a way of thinking on you or to force you into a certain philosophy or methodology. Rather to give you practical and real ways to handle parenting. This is a tool.

I would love for you to subscribe. The most important thing however, is that my writing can help you. May it touch you, your parenting and raising your children. If you do not have children, may it help you in another way. Please express your thoughts about the writing I share. Take 30 extra seconds and share this blog.

Let’s build something beautiful, together.

Weekly I write on a typewriter and share my experiences and the wisdom I desire to pass down as a father. The best inheritance I can leave today for my children.
